| Alamo is a town in Lincoln County, Nevada. Alamo was founded in 1900, and is the largest town in the Pahranagat Valley. The primary industry of the town is ranching. The closest attraction is the Pahranagat Valley National Wildlife Refuge. According to a state estimate in 2006, 432 people[verification needed] live in Alamo. The median age is 36.3 years. The median household income is $43,825. 74.1% of households in Alamo have children. 15.8% of Alamo residents have received a college education. Within the township is the site of the Devonian Alamo bolide impact.
TourismAlamo attracts tourists and truckers traveling from Las Vegas to northern Nevada and Idaho. Attractions include the nearby warm springs, wildlife refuge, Extraterrestrial Highway and Area 51. Gas stations in Alamo cater to these tourists by offering Alien memorabilia. There are two truck stops, the Alamo Cheveron and the Alamo truck stop that offer large diesel filling areas to attract passing truckers. There are two motels in Alamo, the Meadow Lane Motel and Windmill Ridge Lodge. There are a few restaurants in the town, including one at the Alamo Truck Stop and another at Windmill Ridge Lodge. TransportationEducationPublic education is provided by the Lincoln County School District, with offices in Panaca Nevada. There are three schools in the valley:
