Adams is a village in Gage County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 489 at the 2000 census.
GeographyAdams is located at (40.457526, -96.510322)[3]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km²), all of it land. DemographicsAs of the census[1] of 2000, there were 489 people, 187 households, and 123 families residing in the village. The population density was 821.8 people per square mile (314.7/km²). There were 200 housing units at an average density of 336.1/sq mi (128.7/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 99.18% White, and 0.82% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.23% of the population. There were 187 households out of which 31.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.6% were married couples living together, 6.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% were non-families. 32.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.85. In the village the population was spread out with 21.5% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 23.9% from 25 to 44, 14.7% from 45 to 64, and 35.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females there were 76.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 73.0 males. The median income for a household in the village was $35,625, and the median income for a family was $44,792. Males had a median income of $30,139 versus $17,431 for females. The per capita income for the village was $15,243. About 1.7% of families and 3.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under age 18 and 10.0% of those age 65 or over. References
