Eastbrook is a town in Hancock County, Maine, United States. The population was 370 at the 2000 census.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 37.6 square miles (97.4 km²), of which, 33.3 square miles (86.2 km²) of it is land and 4.3 square miles (11.2 km²) of it (11.49%) is water.

Demographics

As of the census^[1] of 2000, there were 370 people, 156 households, and 105 families residing in the town. The population density was 11.1 people per square mile (4.3/km²). There were 426 housing units at an average density of 12.8/sq mi (4.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.19% White, 0.27% Native American, 0.54% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.62% of the population.

There were 156 households out of which 32.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% were married couples living together, 12.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 24.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.84.

In the town the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 34.1% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 8.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 94.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.0 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $31,667, and the median income for a family was $37,813. Males had a median income of $25,000 versus $20,096 for females.
