Manlius is a village in Bureau County, Illinois, United States. The population was 355 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Ottawa–Streator Micropolitan Statistical Area.
GeographyManlius is located at (41.455729, -89.669550)[1]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land. DemographicsAs of the census[2] of 2000, there were 355 people, 149 households, and 96 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,158.7 people per square mile (442.1/km²). There were 165 housing units at an average density of 538.6/sq mi (205.5/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.59% White, 0.28% African American, 0.85% Native American, 0.28% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.66% of the population. There were 149 households out of which 31.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.7% were married couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.9% were non-families. 32.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 3.05. In the village the population was spread out with 27.6% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 24.2% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 86.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.0 males. The median income for a household in the village was $38,214, and the median income for a family was $49,500. Males had a median income of $36,250 versus $17,273 for females. The per capita income for the village was $16,842. About 2.6% of families and 7.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.8% of those under age 18 and 4.7% of those age 65 or over. References
