Clarendon Hills is an affluent village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The population was 7,610 at the 2000 census.
GeographyClarendon Hills is located at (41.796030, -87.955960)[1]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.5 km²), all of it land. DemographicsAs of the census[2] of 2000, there were 7,610 people, 2,836 households, and 2,056 families residing in the village. The population density was 4,377.1 people per square mile (1,688.6/km²). There were 2,939 housing units at an average density of 1,690.4/sq mi (652.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 94.07% White, 0.84% African American, 0.01% Native American, 3.52% Asian, 0.42% from other races, and 1.13% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.37% of the population. There were 2,836 households out of which 40.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.2% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.21. In the village the population was spread out with 30.3% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.9 males. The median income for a household in the village was $94,795, and the median income for a family was $109,532. Males had a median income of $75,639 versus $54,398 for females. The per capita income for the village was $41,859. About 0.7% of families and 0.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 0.2% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
