McCammon is a city in Bannock County, Idaho, United States. It is part of the 'Pocatello, Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area'. The population was 805 at the 2000 census.

Geography

McCammon is located at 42°38′56″N, 112°11′36″W (42.648993, -112.193366)^[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.7 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census^[2] of 2000, there were 805 people, 271 households, and 213 families residing in the city. The population density was 566.7 people per square mile (218.9/km²). There were 296 housing units at an average density of 208.4/sq mi (80.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 94.53% White, 0.50% African American, 0.75% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.12% Pacific Islander, 1.61% from other races, and 2.11% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.48% of the population.

There were 271 households out of which 40.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.9% were married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.4% were non-families. 19.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.97 and the average family size was 3.45.

In the city the population was spread out with 33.2% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 23.1% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.4 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $32,500, and the median income for a family was $40,833. Males had a median income of $35,078 versus $20,750 for females. The per capita income for the city was $14,323. About 5.5% of families and 8.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.4% of those under age 18 and 4.7% of those age 65 or over.
