Bellevue is a city in Blaine County in the central part of the U.S. state of Idaho. The population was 1,876 at the 2000 census. It is located in the Wood River Valley, about 18 miles (29 km) south of the resort area of Ketchum and Sun Valley. The town of Hailey and the airport are a few miles north of Bellevue. The elevation of Bellevue is 5170 feet (1575 m) above sea level. The Big Wood River flows near downtown.

Bellevue is located at 43°27′54″N, 114°15′24″W (43.465019, -114.256755)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 1,876 people, 679 households, and 486 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,577.5 people per square mile (608.7/km²). There were 724 housing units at an average density of 608.8/sq mi (234.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 86.57% White, 0.05% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.96% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 11.14% from other races, and 1.12% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 19.35% of the population.

There were 679 households out of which 38.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.2% were married couples living together, 9.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.4% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.75 and the average family size was 3.12.

In the city the population was spread out with 27.6% under the age of 18, 9.8% from 18 to 24, 35.4% from 25 to 44, 21.3% from 45 to 64, and 6.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 111.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 111.7 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $45,438, and the median income for a family was $49,276. Males had a median income of $33,056 versus $24,583 for females. The per capita income for the city was $19,094. About 6.7% of families and 7.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.2% of those under age 18 and 8.1% of those age 65 or over.
