Woodmoor is a census-designated place (CDP) in El Paso County, Colorado, United States in the statuary town of Monument. The population was 7,177 at the 2000 census. It is one of El Paso county's oldest communities.

Geography

Woodmoor is located at 39°6′36″N, 104°50′43″W (39.110092, -104.845204)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 6.4 square miles (16.5 km²), of which, 6.3 square miles (16.4 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.78%) is water.

Demographics

As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 7,177 people, 2,374 households, and 2,160 families residing in the community. The population density was 1,131.2 people per square mile (437.1/km²). There were 2,427 housing units at an average density of 382.5/sq mi (147.8/km²). The racial makeup of the community was 94.86% White, 0.74% African American, 0.33% Native American, 1.64% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.61% from other races, and 1.78% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.80% of the population.

There were 2,374 households out of which 46.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 85.9% were married couples living together, 3.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 9.0% were non-families. 7.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 1.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.02 the average fand aamily size is 3.17.

In the community the population was spread out with 31.0% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 25.1% from 25 to 44, 31.8% from 45 to 64, and 7.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 103.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.6 males.

The median income for a household in the community was $97,359, and the median income for a family was $99,924. Males had a median income of $76,333 versus $38,301 for females. The per capita income for the community was $38,758. About 1.3% of families and 2.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.3% of those under age 18 and 2.8% of those age 65 or over.
