Website: City of Edgewater

The City of Edgewater is a Home Rule Municipality located in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. It is considered to be an "low-income" Inner City neighborhood of Denver due to its low economic stability and stranded projects, including a multi-acre site at 20th and Depew St. that was purchased with Jefferson County Open Space Funds and then never used. Debate over the restrictions incurred with that funding still hinders redevelopment of the abandoned site. The city borders Denver to the east, Lakewood to the south and west, and Wheat Ridge to the north. Edgewater is a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood of Denver with close to 80% of the population being of hispanic origin. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the city population was 5,159 in 2006.
