Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.06% of the population.

There were 329 households out of which 52.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 87.5% were married couples living together, 2.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 8.2% were non-families. 6.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The Village enacted a new land use plan in 2004, in an attempt to firmly establish its desire to preserve its open spaces, and low-density character. Just to the north, Mecklenburg County and Charlotte continue their pervasive sprawl and density. This rural Village is at the bigger City's southern border, and in close proximity to the densely populated and affluent suburban enclaves of Ballantyne and Longview.

Marvin is known for its wealthy residents, such as NFL Pro bowl wide receiver Steve Smith in the Firethorne community, and its large "McMansions".
